Ming-Li “Minx” Turhan

At the heart of Minx's brand is a passion and respect for the history and culture of street dances. As a creative and storyteller, she encourages her students to be strong advocates for dance culture and effortlessly creates an environment for everyone to express their own individuality and style.

With over 15 years teaching, choreography and judging experience, Minx is a versatile dancer who specialises in all styles of street dance from Hip Hop to Dancehall to Salsa, but is especially known for her prowess in Reggaeton and Latin Fusion. She has had the privilege of performing and teaching in Europe, North America, Asia and all over Australia.

Her proudest dance achievements include five Australian professional solo Reggaeton titles and featuring in So You Think You Can Dance Australia’s top 100 dancers. Her competition troupe, MFassis Crew, has won 15 National titles to date and continues to entertain crowds worldwide. She was also the youngest recipient of the “Award of Excellence for her commitment to the Australian Latin dance scene” in 2019.

As the founding director of The MBassy Dance Studio and with over a decade of experience in national event management amongst various street dance communities, Minx has the vision to strengthen the Melbourne street Latin scene through community-driven and collaborative projects.

Gökay Kai Turhan Salsa On2 Mambo Melbourne The MBassy Dance

Melbourne and Australia is lucky to have an international talent like Kai with his unique and gentlemanly style of Salsa On2!

With over 10 years’ experience in dance, Kai has a versatile background in ballet, modern, funk, and street jazz, however, he found his true calling and fell in love with dancing salsa On2. An eight time National champion in Turkey, Kai has also taught at and directed international dance festivals.

Kai’s teaching repertoire includes salsa, bachata, chachacha, kizomba, and men’s styling, and his prowess as a dance instructor and coach is attested by the scores of national champions nurtured under his guidance.

Kai is passionate about sharing his views on musicality and fusion of dance through Mambo Moderna with the Australian dance community.


 

Ballet & Jazz:
Juliette Beninati

Juliette brings a passion for creativity and self-expression to her teaching, inspiring her students to explore their potential through dance. With a decade of experience, Juliette specialises in Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, and Commercial Heels, offering classes for all levels, from young children to adults.

Her performance background includes appearances in Melbourne's nightlife scene, as well as choreography for various shows at The Space Dance & Arts Centre and Ignite Performing Arts. She is also the founder of her own dance wear brand, Juliette the Label.

Juliette’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Business (Marketing), a Certificate II in VCE VET Dance, and extensive teaching experience in both the studio and event settings. Known for her energetic and engaging teaching style, she motivates students to grow technically while embracing the joy of dance.

Beatsbyblayk Blayk Doolan heels the mbassy dance

Heels & Twerk Techniques:
Balyk Doolan

Blayk has a passion for movement and a commitment to creating a safe, empowering space for all dancers. As a creative force and performer, Blayk, also known as Beats by Blayk, inspires students to connect with their individuality while embracing the emotional depth of dance.

With a background in Ballet and Jazz and a love for Commercial and Contemporary styles, Blayk is a versatile artist who has competed, performed, and taught across Australia. Currently teaching multiple styles throughout Naarm (Melbourne), Blayk specialises in Heels and dynamic Floorwork Tricks, bringing a unique energy and flair to every class.

Their professional credits include performances for the NRL Titans Cheerleaders, Vera Blue (Sydney Enmore Theatre), Sophie Ellis-Bextor (Brisbane Powerhouse), and Tones and I (Dance For Me music video). They have trained under leading choreographers such as Cisco, Kim Smit, Devante Latorre, Nicole Kirkland, and Georgie Fabian.

With a focus on authenticity and technical precision, Blayk is dedicated to cultivating a vibrant, inclusive environment where dancers of all levels can grow, express, and thrive.



Hip Hop, KPop & Waacking:

Kaelynn Yoonsung Kim


Kaelynn’s journey in dance is one of evolution and cultural fusion. Growing up immersed in the artistry of ballet and the vibrancy of K-pop, Kaelynn discovered her love for movement early on. In her 20s, she joined a university dance club in South Korea, where she performed over 60 times across diverse street dance styles, including K-pop, waacking, hip hop, and house.

As the founder of Rika Crew, Kaelynn choreographed and directed performances that celebrated street jazz and Afro influences, showcasing her versatility and creative flair. Since moving to New Zealand in 2016, her dance style has continued to evolve, incorporating reggaeton, afrobeats, and deep house into her repertoire.

Now based in Australia, Kaelynn is a welcome addition to The MBassy Dance Team! Kaelynn’s passion for dance culture and her roots in K-culture drive her mission to share her unique style and knowledge with the Australian dance community.
